"The Mirrour which flatters not", originally created by John Payne (1639).
The engraving is featured in "The Mirror Which Flatters Not" (Le Miroir qui ne flatte point), a poetic meditation on the subject of death, written by French writer Jean Puget de la Serre (1632).
